ABOUT THE ARTWORK
DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

One of many digital photo inspired pieces. The focus of this piece came from trying to create layers without creating congruent angles for certain areas as compositional asymmetrical elements. These pieces were in contrast to some of my symmetrical worked that worked on layering mirror effect.

Experience: Minneapolis College of Art & Design 1990 with BFA in Fine Art. Painting and Sculpture major. I have worked as a prop designer, photo assistant, animator, graphic artist, video editor, and video producer since 1991. I worked for Big City Productions for 8 years as Studio Manager/Editor/Producer/Animator and production coordinator. I also developed the digital audio editing and digital video editing capabilities. I worked worked for Gallop Studios as a photo assistant and prop builder. It was here that I began my first dabbling in the world of digital photography and manipulation. I put together a line of greeting cards for Silver Lined Intentions that were photos digitally enhanced and altered. I worked with Proper Productions building various projects including a float for the Aquatennial Parade. Currently I own Ingalls Video Production producing Videos, Graphics and Animations. Inspirations: I have been doing some form of art all my life. I remember as a young child spending hours working with clay and drawing battle scenes, trucks, cars, and characters. I was lucky enough to have a step father who enjoyed the arts and was a collector of some very unique pieces. Including many limited edition Salvador Dali works. I ve been a huge fan of his work myself ever since. It was in High School that I began to take things more serious and did extensive work with clay and metal, as well as begin more elaborate painting and drawing techniques. When I was 14 I began to work in my step dads scrap yard, doing torch cutting and operating heavy equipment. It was then that I realized that there was art all around me. It inspired me to begin creations in welded steel using found objects. Many of wich were geometric cut outs from the John Deere Tractor Plant accross the road. It was this type of imagery that began to invade my drawings and paintings. Sharp geometric patterns that represented both positive and negative space. Since I was in 3rd or 4th grade I would make figures in clay and still enjoy doing so today. My work started to evolve into vast subterranean landscapes dealing in dark evolution based imagery, rooted in heavy texture techniques and muted colors. Yet I still would refine my sharp geometric based images that were bold colors taking on a kaleidoscope effect. I took with me many of these life experiences to The Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1986.
