I am interested in the relationship created between abstract symbolic shapes and ambiguous spaces in the attempt of providing an imagery into which a certain narrative could be read and to create highly personal and allusive works. Recently I found myself more and more interested in nature which I reconstruct either by memory or by combining pictures I take in my travels for inspiration, as a mental collage. The source of my research comes, as well, from experienced events, from situations I wished have/not have happened, from me in relation with the others, from the process of psychological self-examination. I am also influenced by minimal sculpture and land art and I find architecture and design inspiring. I usually prefer to work on bodies of work, combining oils and acrylics as the main medium and a limited color palette. I build up layered painting, mainly on canvas, scraping and adding in a gradual process that starts with sketching the main idea but which transforms almost completely by the end.
