Laurelea has emerged successful in the art world with collectors internationally. Along with several solo shows over the years in California and Arizona her 2016 "Ocotillo Dawn" was selected for inclusion the permanent collection of the prestigious St. George, Utah Art Museum. From a beginning in Popart her style has become its current form using bold brushwork and layers of vibrant color to portray images influenced by the Sonoran desert of Arizona, her current residence. Being educated in Northern California at California College of Arts and Crafts and Sacramento State University enabled her studies to evolve with teachings from some of the 20th century's most recognized artists including Ralph Goings,Greg Kondos, WayneTheibaud and Alan Osborne. Laurelea was born in Los Angeles and with works in Hawaii, Costa Rica considers herself a Pacific Ocean Artist . She is involved with Ocean Artists society and Project Coyote in California and hopes to use her art to elevate awareness of wildlife needs in these areas, contributing with a percentage of her sales.
