Susan Karnet is a painter, sculptor, designer, and she also teaches art history. She taught ceramics in Cairo, Egypt, where she had a one-person exhibit at Helwan University in Cairo. Susan has been exhibiting her artwork for many years in the United States, Europe, and Africa. Susan began showing her work in the East Village of early 1980’s and her work still has the spirit of that time. Currently she is living in New York City where she creates sculpture, painting, and works on paper- drawings and collages in her East Village studio. Susan’s 2D work mixes abstraction with imagery from Ancient Egypt, everyday life and pop culture. In 3D work she carves and models both humans and animals in wood, plaster, and other materials.
