Michael Orester, born in 1964 in Chisinau, USSR (now Moldova), is a distinguished contemporary artist known for his contributions to neo-expressionism. His artistic journey commenced at the School of Fine Arts Repin in Chisinau, where he studied from 1981 to 1985. He further honed his skills at the Moscow State Surikov Academy of Fine Arts between 1987 and 1994. In 1995, Orester relocated to Germany to attend the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover, completing his studies in 2000. Since 1994, he has been living and working in Hanover. Orester's oeuvre is characterized by vibrant colors and lively compositions that often depict schematic faces and figures, conveying individuality through expressive postures. His work captures abstract concepts such as music, dance, and emotions, transforming them into visual narratives that resonate with viewers. Orester's work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions across major cities such as Moscow, Hanover, Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin since the 1990s.
