Markus Nieden, fine and performing artist, has been working in the visual arts for over 35 years (drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media) as well as in the performing arts (theater, film). Markus Nieden's urban series, titled "City Lights", as memories held in rich colors, depicts New York in particular, as well as selected European cities such as Paris, Frankfurt am Main, London, and Kiev, where he lives as his second residence , His portraits are impressive snapshots with a deep look into the personality of the person portrayed. As an integral part of his art, he transposes jazz music in the form of lively music portraits and music bar scenes, as well as in abstract compositions as "jazz moments" in sonorous colors. Furthermore,in his many years of project work for youth encounters, his focus is primarily on the interaction between East and West European artistic Topics, which are realized in Crossover Masterclasses , resulting in international co-productions , being funded by various foundations and cultural institutions. (Robert Bosch Foundation, Berlin, European Cultural Foundation, Netherlands, Fund Budoucnosti, Praha, DFI Ludwigsburg, Cultural Department, Karlsruhe, and others) Selected Projects: "Poet`s Cabaret" -2007,Art expo combined with theater performances, Orgelfabrik Durlach.
