Markus Nieden, fine and performing artist, has been working in the visual arts for over 35 years (drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media) as well as in the performing arts (theater, film). Markus Nieden's urban series, titled "City Lights", as memories held in rich colors, depicts New York in particular, as well as selected European cities such as Paris, Frankfurt am Main, London, and Kiev, where he lives as his second residence , His portraits are impressive snapshots with a deep look into the personality of the person portrayed. As an integral part of his art, he transposes jazz music in the form of lively music portraits and music bar scenes, as well as in abstract compositions as "jazz moments" in sonorous colors.
