Tvesha Singh (b. 1996) had a mostly nomadic childhood as part of a military family, which gave her the chance to appreciate and deeply connect with the different landscapes of India. Those vivid impressions from her early years have had a lasting effect on her art practice. The artist draws inspiration from her rich history of travel. She employs both memory and imagination to revisit her experiences and focus on emotions elicited by those scenes. For this reason, she tends to lean towards an abstract style as it helps her best express the almost ethereal beauty and vibrance of colours that exist in nature. She is humbled by and driven to follow that sublime feeling one experiences when faced with the magnitude of landscapes and natural phenomenon. Tvesha has incorporated mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolours and Lino-cut printmaking into her practice. Her curiosity to explore the versatility of different mediums as well as chasing moments of discovery that happen in the studio are what drive her to pursue art. She currently works out of her home art studio in Gurugram, Haryana. Tvesha’s work is in private collections both in India and abroad.
