Marta Nowicka is a Polish-born, New Jersey-based visual artist working primarily in printmaking, watercolor, and abstract painting. Her work explores the emotional and symbolic connections between place, memory, and form — often using layered textures, bold color contrasts, and intuitive mark-making to evoke feelings of movement, transformation, and inner stillness. Marta specializes in monotypes, collagraphs, and carborundum prints, combining traditional techniques with expressive, contemporary compositions. She also creates vibrant mixed-media works enhanced with pastels, ink, and fluorescent acrylics. Her practice reflects a deep sensitivity to the organic world, a love of structure and chaos in balance, and a poetic use of abstract language.
