Stacked Sonata series—a fusion of carved stone/granite and marble, and glazed ceramics/porcelain. Each material, created and combined into a harmonious balance. As the grains, colors, and forms intertwine in harmony, the sculpture invites introspection.

Ataru Kozuru is a multidisciplinary artist, raised in North Shore, Massachusetts, now based in Japan. My practice as an artist is driven by the exploration of abstract expressionism, working across both two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums. In my 2D works, my style has evolved into organic, flowing lines that express a sense of natural movement and emotion. This intuitive approach to form and color invites the viewer to connect with the work on a visceral level. Indoor sculptures are designed to invite intimate engagement, encouraging personal reflection within the space. In contrast, my outdoor sculptures are intended to interact with the natural environment, inviting the public to engage with the artwork and explore the relationship between the piece and its surrounding space. Primarily working with stone, along with materials such as stainless steel, metal, clay, cast glass,LED, and neon, my work blurs the boundaries between the organic and the constructed. His work is showcased in both private and public collections across the US, Europe, Asia, and Japan.
