Simona Florea’s art is at heart based on the purist notion of geometric, clean two-dimensional shapes, uniting the positive qualities of precision and simplicity by stripping the unnecessary and retaining the essential.
For her, each work is created through a synthesis of the Hegelian dialectic, from the very conception of the idea through every layer until its finish. An evolution by opposing sides unified in contradiction only to transmute into the next layer and start over again until the work has reached its completion.
However, as opposed to purist aesthetics, Simona places the human, specifically the female figure at the center as inspirational but also integral to her work. Recently, mirroring her personal inner work, she introduces a new opposing side to the discourse, challenging its current limitations to reach closer to universal beauty and harmony- calling it “stepping out of the self-imposed lines” allowing space to break the rules and to become.
