Vida Khadem

I am a painter, writer and film maker. I was born in Afghanistan and raised in America. Art is not just my passion but it is my breath, my love and the only thing that I think of every moment of the day and sometime even in sleep, the only thing that moves my heart and mind and soul. It has been so since I can remember. I was born in Kabul and my parents moved to USA when I was in 7th grade. I grew up in Town of Herndon in Virginia and went to elementary school, High School and College in Virginia and received my BA in Fine Arts and film directing from George Mason University. Growing up I was very close to my father who adored me, but he did not approve of my love for the arts and wished I would study to become a doctor. However thru sheer persistent and support of my beloved mother I was able to continue on the path. I have been painting since age four. After graduating from college my brother and I(whom I love very much and who has always supported me, understood me and my best friend) moved to New York City to pursue my dream of being an artist and film maker.
