Feet on Bathroom Mat takes an everyday moment: bare feet on a soft mat - and turns it into something worth a second look. It’s the kind of scene we live every day without thinking twice, but in its simplicity lies a quiet vulnerability. This is the space where we’re most ourselves, yet it’s also w...

I paint feet. Not because I have a fetish (though who's judging?), but because they're fascinating. Feet are everything: grounding, moving, connecting and often completely ignored. They carry the weight of our lives (literally!) and yet they rarely get the spotlight.

But it goes deeper than that. Feet are interpersonal. When I'm around people, I feel things: a warmth, a tension, an energy. And those feelings become feet. The color, the shape, the weight of a foot on a canvas is never just anatomy. It's a translation. Of a person. Of a moment. Of the invisible thing that passes between people when they're really in each other's presence.

Working by the ocean in Costa da Caparica, I'm surrounded by movement: waves, surfers, the ebb and flow of tides and that energy seeps into my work. My synesthesia plays a big role too. I don't just see feet; I feel their colors and their textures. My paintings are a mix of humor, honesty and a little bit of rebellion. Because let's be real: feet are weird, and that's exactly why I love them.

I hold a Master's degree in Art (2019) and my work has been exhibited in Berlin, Lisbon, Bonn, Seoul and Maastricht.
