Natalia Valter is a conceptual sculptor, originally from a small mining town in Siberia. She spent her childhood with her blind grandmother, who taught her to sense the world through her hands. In 2018, after losing sight in one eye, Natalia returned to this early experience — choosing sculpture as her way of communicating with the world. Her artistic statement: “I feel the world through my hands.” Her work explores tactility as a primal language of perception and the trace of touch as a form of presence. Clay is her primary material — it responds to every gesture and preserves its imprint. Her style is inspired by the minimalism of Cycladic art and resonates with the works of Arp, Moore, Hepworth, and Brancusi. She lives and works in Varna and is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
