Widya Ika Lestari

Widya Ika Lestari, a Jakarta-based surrealist painter, was born in Indonesia in April 2002. She pursued her passion for art by studying fine arts at university and has since showcased her work in exhibitions across various cities, particularly in Indonesia. In addition to her surrealist pieces, Widya frequently creates portraiture and anatomical drawings, showcasing her versatility and keen attention to detail.

Her surrealist art is distinguished by unique, childlike characters with small eyes, prominent noses, and asymmetrical faces—features inspired by individuals with Down syndrome, often referred to as "angel faces." Through her deeply personal style, Widya challenges societal norms surrounding beauty and physical appearance. Her paintings emphasize the warmth, innocence, and shared humanity that connect us all. By embracing diversity, she seeks to inspire compassion and appreciation for those who might otherwise be overlooked.

Widya's work invites viewers into a world where differences are celebrated, fostering a deeper understanding of the richness and value found in every individual.
