Hello and welcome to my pages.
In short: after many years of paining with oils and acrylics I went back to drawing in these last years. I mainly use pencil, ink, chalk and specialise in metalpoints.The very first drawings I made as a child were inspired by watching the clouds go by above me, and trying to reproduce their ever-changing shapes, colours and shades on paper. I still find inspiration in elements of nature and studying flora, fauna, and landscapes.
After working mainly in colour for years, I again embraced the stillness of working with pencils and silverpoint.

About silverpoint:
Drawing in silverpoint requires the meticulous building of layers with a silver rod, chasing the desired translucence and depth. But I also focus on my subject matter in a less technical way. While drawing trees or flowers for instance, I try to capture not just their physical form but also their more elusive and ethereal qualities. I imagine their hidden, mysterious world. Art academy Rotterdam and Vrije Academy in the seventies and perpetual self study (the proces of learning never stops).

Over the years I participated in several group exhibitions, had solo exhibitions and was present with my work at artfairs . Works were also sold to private collectors and companies.
