Julie Freund was born in Orange County, located in upstate New York. She attended Bridgewater College in central Virginia, where she majored in the Fine Arts, before transferring to the Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall of 2010.
A graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design, class of 2013, Julie graduated with a B.F.A in Painting and double minored in Equestrian Studies and Art History. Equestrian sports, especially hunter jumpers, have always been a big part of Julie’s life. Her passion for the equines is often an inspiration for her artwork. Through many different mediums, Julie captures unique qualities in different horses.
Julie has shown in the hunters, jumpers and equitation at many “A” rated competitions along the east coast ranging from Lake Placid, New York to Ocala, Florida and many other shows in between. She has also been a part of the Bridgewater College’s intercollegiate equestrian team as well the Savannah College of Art and Design’s intercollegiate equestrian team.
Currently, Julie is living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She spends her time between working at Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital in Oconomowoc, riding at Endeavor Farm in Wales and creating art as a freelance artist.
