Whenever I passed by the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe in the 1980ies on my way to the technical university I was weirdly bifurcated in my mind and tension was arising between art creativity and engineering ingenuity. Engineering won over art in the end.

Now decades later the diversion converged into a friendly coexistence of a math and tech mind and artistic hands when it comes to sketching, drawing or painting.

Always fascinated by computer art whenever randomness kicked into an algorithm, today’s advancements in AI fascinates me in suggesting pleasing sujets in my rather limited time I can spare for art creation.

Snapshots of past business travels to fascinating destinations often trigger the impulse to become creative and end up in small scale dry etchings, or large scale acrylic paintings.

Always probing the material and techniques to its extremes, well the engineer inside drives that of course.
