I’m the creator and the muse of my paintings. I’m learning, unlearning and relearning the things that limit my creative expression and I against the heteronormative norms and judgemental perspectives. Being queer and Asian immigrant self taught artist I have been questioning my place in this art world and how people think about me with no art connections. Self expression means to me self power and strength. Embracing the power through my art and speaking up for people who can’t express themselves because society doesn’t allow them. I combine florals and plants in the background. I use various ways to build the surface of human skin tones and textures. I pursue the joy of the world and support my mental health by painting these figures with florals and fauna. I feel accepted and protected living in San Francisco. My art is a love letter to the LGBTQIA+ and immigrant community. Representation Matters. Queer bodies matter.
