Robert J Lawson

I was born in Wollongong in 1953. When I was about 22 I became a professional photographer and at the same time started an educational audiovisual company called Magic Mirror Productions Pty.Ltd. with my partner. As well as audiovisuals our company produced origonal theatre productions such as The Rubbedy Dubbedy Pub Show which toured through Western Australia and the Northern Territory. I created the set designs and visuals for these plays and shows, and was also the sound engineer. In 1989 I moved to Margaret River to further my painting career and developed a method of painting directly on glass. (wine bottles) I created my position of Artist-in-Residence at Chateau Xanadu Winery and after 12 years established their first art gallery. I also began my own Art & Candle Gallery with my partner at the nearby small town of Witchcliffe. In 2005, I was forced to close my gallery due to ill health and I now produce and sell my work from my studio at home and my website. During my professional career as a photograher I travelled throughout Australia and overseas. I gain inspiration from these photos and memories of stunning natural landscapes, natural wonders of the world, and abstract impressions of the many cultures I've encountere...
