Gennadiy Pokotylo

Not only an artist, but a soldier – my life, as well as my paintings, has been affected by war, which became an inseparable part of my daily existence.

My paintings are controversial, emotional, aiming at stir your feelings. I want everyone to become a part of my inner world; it could be a passerby who happens to arrest my gaze, an African boy from another life, or a delicate girl in a hat.

In 1989 I graduated The National Academy of Art and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine, becoming the first graduate majoring in both Graphics and Poster design. I taught drawing and composition to children at school for 2 years.

In 1994, my poster won first place in international competition devoted to AIDS awareness year.

Took part in various national and international exhibitions.

Right now my works can be found in 18 private collections worldwide.
