ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I'm inspired by my own connection to nature and it's sensuality and the loss of personal contact caused by both the pandemic and technology. I hope the viewer can feel the longing and our true need for physical contact and contact with nature and doing so with out devices. I chose collage, using vintage magazines that sowed the seeds of materialism with innocent imagery and to contrast that with figurative nudes I'd shot in some very special places in nature. The desire to affirm our own sensuality and innocence is still with us in this Anthropocene era. I use black and white contrasted with color to illustrate hope. We have amazing powers of rejuvenation.
