About The Artwork

There is a beautiful sadness to the dying swan - on the one hand she is entering the world of spirits but on the other, is dying. I try to capture this in my drawings of the dying swan. The original dying swan ballet was danced by Anna Pavlova to the music by Saint Saens. This music is very beautiful and originally inspired me to draw this subject many years ago.

I was born in Bristol in the UK and now live in Sussex. I have been drawing ballet dancers since I was a child. I took ballet classes as a child and developed a love of the dance form. From this experience, I am familiar with the movement and poses and try to get this across in my drawings and paintings. The subject matter is mainly ballet as I find this inspiring, but I also paint scenic views and love a beautiful sunset!
