Wayland Smithy 1997 Print

Inspired by an experience I had in 1997 at the ancient burial mound called 'Wayland Smithy' in Wiltshire, UK. I was in my early 20's and me and my friends were discovering the place for the first time. It was quite overgrown and we had to cut through brambles to get to the front chamber. Even though it was late September the sun was blazing hot and we had just drank some mushroom tea that was offered to us by some travellers who had set up camp further up the Ridgeway. I remember standing in the mouth of the chamber with the wind blowing through the trees that encircle the site. With every breath in I felt the ancient energies fill my body. With every breath out I felt intense light escaping my soul and flowing out through the landscape and into the cosmos filling everything with love. After many years of learning how to use digital methods to express myself I have now produced something that comes close to expressing that divine light. The piece started out as a pencil sketch, which I later worked into using an apple pencil and digital painting applications.
