This piece is based on the images of the Indian God and Goddess Shiva and Shakti. I painted them portraying their separate whole entity while interacting with the other's whole world. Acrylic is an immediate quick drying medium. The piece I painted in one go.

I have graduated from ECA with a BA(Hons) degree in 2008. Thereafter I graduated with an MSc Art Psychotherapy (international) degree at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. My work is a result of an intuitive process and a response and reaction to an internal visualisation. The focus of my work is on an attempt to capture the heart in love and encompass our artless heart with our sentient consciousness. The sexual, carnal and sensual complete with the innocence, wisdom and pure desire to spiritual development. My approach to all my work in the various mediums is similar in manner where the work is bold and expressive and immediate. We live in a world which emphasises religious responsibilities and which has strong and varied spiritual and religious conflicts. Spirituality in general and the kabala and the tree of life specifically are elements I used to inspire and direct my work. Lifes natural order although it sometimes seems random often holds big questions in different cultures and religions. This spiritual journey naturally led me to look at modern science and at the parallels found between the two.Society accepts the teaching of evolution theory even though it is inconsistent with the theories of religious beliefs. These theories do not entirely explain many of the most important philosophical and scientific questions of human existence and deal with our past with very little effect on everyday life, as we only really get to debate these issues as consumers. As a result our attempt to reconcile the conflicting theories of creation and evolution takes place at an individual level where spirituality is increasingly personal. We need to understand and experience the interconnectedness, the love, of humans to each other and to the rest of creation. This is when human spirituality will evolve and transform. Approaching this subject through the means of visual art gives me a lot of grief and at the same time this is the one force which drives me.
