Painting: Acrylic, Latex, Paper, Spray Paint and Oil on Cardboard and Paper. "White Forms", mixed acrylic and oil media and paper collage on rough cardboard Denise C. Marts, 2018 This is an unusual new piece that emerged spontaneously in 2018 on a large piece of rough cardboard that was being used in the studio as a palette. Months and months of paint accumulation on the cardboard created a wonderfully textured and interesting pattern that served as a backdrop for the painting. I see the influence of Jackson Pollack in this work as well as that of mid century modernism generally speaking. I hope the viewer will enjoy the juxtaposition of graphic forms combined with the looseness of thrown paint techniques. The white forms are at once structured yet free. The piece appears bigger and bolder in real life than in the photos. The background is a deep eggplant tone. Please refer carefully to the photos. The piece comes as is. The cardboard surface upon which it is painted is rough and uneven and will require some creative handling for display. This is a great piece for someone who enjoys art that reflects a raw, unexpected and uncensored creative process using whatever materials are at hand in the studio...

Technology has played an important role in the development of my work as an artist. Though I consider myself primarily a painter, I feel that much of my most original and progressive work is in the newly emergent digital medium. I grew up artistically in the heart of a technological hub and this was central to the integration of technology with my art. I do not believe that technology is "the" future of art. I believe that technology, like every innovation in art before it, is an exciting new aspect of modern art and I feel honored to be a part of that. I am also a theorist on the nascent field of contemporary metapsychology.
