The wall sculpture is composed by three pieces of polished white Portuguese marble installed in a stained wood base. Hanging hardware is included. This piece is a result of a challenge made to the artist: make a 7 meters installation related to water, wall mounted, for the exhibition "Sítios da Água - Places of Water", a 40 artists collective exhibition in the Levada cultural center, Tomar ( 2022 ). The artist chose to take a more formal approach to the subject, rather than a more symbolic ou metaphorical, studying the patterns made by water - the small waves made by a drop falling, ripples made by wind in a pool surface, water running down a drain. The choise of white marble was made so that there is a incongruity between the subject water and the medium stone. One is fluid and malleable and the other is static and permanent, so that it's almost as presenting the textures as fossilised in stone.

Sandra Borges is born in 1979 in Lisbon. The sculptor mostly based her work on human behavior. Sometimes looking through the stereotypes, sometimes through the eyes of a individual, it is always about how one's personality is formed and how one relates to the other and in society. Working only with Portuguese stone (marbles, limestone`s and breccia), she also mix it with other media if the idea demands it. The result is very personal way to make art objects that link the tradition of stone carving to other materials and plastic languages.
