About The Artwork

On the 6th of april 2012, there’s was a scarcity of tomatoes - I wondered how that could happen in the African continent, tomato is one of the most widely grown vegetables due to its versatility with production cutting across smallholder and commercial farming communities. I used the possibilities of anything and everything being unavailable at certain points in time and expressed the scale of general items, civilization, artifacts, Gender and natural resources that has been abused or tampered with through the decades of exist. The process of this work lasted for 22 hours and it was hand drawn using ink, markers and paint to achieve in of a kind piece about a continent that seems to be dying out with all its resources.
