ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, is a 1958 B & W film about a woman (Nancy Archer) who encounters a Giant Alien in the desert. This unfortunate rendezvous transforms Nancy into a Giantess herself. With her major increase in size (5 foot to 50) Nancy is able to effectively deal with her philandering husband and his floozy girlfriend, who are out to steal her fortune, by literally squashing their plans (and them); before succumbing herself to a devastating charge from pesky power lines inconveniently in her way. Using the low grade special effects of the time it is both an exploitive use of the ability to make people seem huge as well as a parody. A giant Paper Mache hand is used with normal folk and the scenes in town are filmed using cheap miniature mock ups, like those in Godzilla. Starring Allison Hayes, this B horror film would be her legacy. Allison did a lot of work in early TV and around the B grade Movie circuit in Hollywood. Besides this film she was mainly known for her incredible hourglass figure (especially in bikinis) and her ability to play classical piano. Tragically Allison died from lead poisoning incurred from supplements given to her by a quack Doctor. She was 47, the irony being that her fate would have made a good B movie itself. In 1993 a remake was made with Darryl Hanna using more sophisticated special effects and with a more feminist slant but as campy as it tried to be, it can't out do the original for cheesiness and pure fun. Surreallascapes: Each Collage is made up of at least 40 different pictures arranged in a landscape where the physical world is real, but the essence is of an alternate dimension. Or a Jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are made to fit together in a dreamlike manner. This will be offered as a signed and numbered print, limited to an edition of 25. Made from 100% rag paper, the 18" X 25" prints include a one-inch border.
