About The Artwork
24x20 Mixed Media Collage featuring my photography in the center surrounded by found vintage paper ephemera. The edges of the canvas have been wrapped in metal tape to give it a finished look to hang as-is. However it won't affect framing if you'd wish to do so after purchasing. This piece started with the central photograph and was inspired by the first stanza of a poem by Sara Teasdale entitled "Joy." I am wild, I will sing to the trees, / I will sing to the stars in the sky, / I love, I am loved, he is mine, / Now at last I can die! The poem and found imagery create a story within the collage to be decided by the viewer.

I grew up driving the back roads of the midwest looking for abandoned places to photograph. I was nicknamed "The Gallivanting Girl" because of this, and subsequently that's what I named my art business. I have always been drawn to an eclectic mix of art, agriculture, and anything vintage and worn. My art seems to reflect these things. I currently live on a small farm in rural Indiana with my husband and daughter as well as a menagerie of animals including a small herd of Brown Swiss cattle. I enjoy making art in several different mediums including photography, painting, collage, printmaking, and drawing.
