"All colours are one thing, seen in different states of motion" is a quote by noble prize physicist Frank Wilczek. I have explored his idea of the colour chromatic spectrum through the amazing range of colours butterflies display. When I heard an interview with Frank Wilczek talk about his physics theories on colour, nature and the beauty that it holds, I was compelled to dedicate the beauty of colour through nature.

My endless fascination with the world we inhabit had led to my interest in pursuing a Masters in 'Art in Science'. During which I discovered a wonderful mix of anatomical and botanical images from various sources, often archived in museums and libraries. As a result of researching, collecting images and ideas that inspired me, I blend these narratives into my collages. My collages are based on a lot of research and are cut by hand which are then arranged into several layers to create a new world of connections. These collages are like visual essays, where I try to understand what I learn and process through making. This process holds a space of alchemy, for me, it is where the magic happens. www.rajisalan.squarespace.com
