About The Artwork
My collage art is made using various sources from magazines, books, the wide web, anatomy and botany illustrations from around the world. All of which are then cut and arranged in layers to create a new world of connections. These collages are like visual essays, where I try to understand what I learn and process through making. This process holds a space of alchemy, for me, it is where the magic happens. Inspired by Carl Jung's theory of looking into the collective unconscious in which our memories and experiences are deeply embedded from our past. I have been exploring the human psyche as a different way of seeing and understanding the world. The masculine and feminine aspects of the natural world come to light in this diptych, balancing the human souls' unconscious masculine in a woman and the unconscious feminine in a man.

My endless fascination with the world we inhabit had led to my interest in pursuing a Masters in 'Art in Science'. During which I discovered a wonderful mix of anatomical and botanical images from various sources, often archived in museums and libraries. As a result of researching, collecting images and ideas that inspired me, I blend these narratives into my collages. My collages are based on a lot of research and are cut by hand which are then arranged into several layers to create a new world of connections.
