About The Artwork
Our society is obsessed with guns, I wanted to represent how disconnected we are as a people over the issue of gun control. I also wanted to show the impact in graphic details of mass shootings and how fractured our society is today, I used stitching on the piece to represent the pulling together of our nation even though we are deeply divided politically. The unpainted pieces of the puzzle represent the healing that we are attempting, and the white “stars” of the flag are disorganized as I feel we as a people are today.
