About The Artwork
I found a cardboard impression of what looked like a flower. Using the impression image I transferred the cardboard flower onto individual 6" x 6" new cedar wraps and painted those flowers in different colors. Thought of Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns who is always an inspiration when finding found objects. Blue grey flower on cedar wrap. The cedar wrap was then adhered onto the canvas I had worked with gauze, acrylic and a permanent adhesive bonding agent. Once dried, I then speckled the painting with Golden's black paint placing it in a black, wood vintage frame. Reverse has hardware, plastic coated stainless steel wire and is ready to hang.
