Description: CIGARETTE ENDS, ROLL-UP BUTS, TEA LEAVES, COTTON SHEET, PLY WOOD. ON A PERSONAL LEVEL, THIS WORK IS THE MOST POWERFUL PIECE I'VE CREATED. WHEN I WAS IN PRISON, I HAD MY ART MATERIALS CONFISCATED BECEAUSE I PRODUCED TWENTY OR SO PAINTINGS OF A BARB (SEGMENT OF BARBED WIRE) IN VARIOUS COLOURS AND SOLD TO OTHER PRISONERS. SOMEHOW, THIS AROSE SUSPICION AMONG THE PRISON OFFICERS AND BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T ACCEPT THIS IMAGE AS AN INERESTING PIECE OF SIMPLE ART, IT WAS DEEMED 'SUBVERSIVE'! I WAS TOLD TO STOP PRODUCING THEM, BUT FINISHED THE TWO I HAD LEFT.
