About The Artwork
Collage of paper on wood. I used torn papers to make this collage which include magazines, colored tissue paper, and other misc. found papers. I hope views can get a feel of movement of waves and fleeting feelings of freedom, calm and humbleness, the Sea evokes. I was inspired by my local area beaches and of the feeling of being there. If you look hard you can find a turtle and a peacock feather hidden within. There is also a piece of a sequined dress, off a page from a glamor magazine, that works well as the light reflection on the water. I love the aspect of collage. How pieces of somewhat unrelated things are juxtaposed and put together just as they in life. This piece won Honorable Mention for Planet Pulse, a National Juried show at Cruz Art League in 2018.The piece comes ready to hang. It is on 1.5" cradled board with image wrapped around sides. It is coated for protection with a clear acrylic gloss finish.

What medium I use and when, is determined by my subject and mood I want to convey. My paintings are most often landscapes, botanical, or birds.
