THE BALLAD OF JOHN AND YOKO Collage

The Ballad of John and Yoko, is an autobiographical song written by John Lennon, about his wedding to Yoko Ono, and their adventures at the beginning of their Honeymoon. Including their infamous (although P. C.) Bed-In for peace. And yes, I know it isn't Yoko in the collage, but that's not the point. Recorded with only Paul McCartney of the Beatles (as the others were out of the country) it was done very quickly so it could be released while the events were still fresh in the minds of the public. John wanted to show the unjustly maligned Yoko (and his true love for her) in a good light. The Pop nature of the song is belied by the line, Their Going to Crucify Me and although John’s assertion that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus had caused an uproar just a few years earlier; this snuck by without a peep. It can sometimes be amazing how much the world can change in a short period of time. Kind of like how parent’s attitudes about when children will be allowed to do certain things, changes between their first and second kids. But then again, it was also the end of the tumultuous 60’s. Surreallascapes: Each Collage is made up of at least 40 different pictures arranged in a landscape where the physical world is real, but the essence is of an alternate dimension. Or a Jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are made to fit together in a dreamlike manner. This will be offered as a signed and numbered print, limited to an edition of 25. Made from 100% rag paper, the 18" X 25" prints include a one-inch border.
