THE GRAIL The Grail of course refers to the Holy Grail that Jesus drank from at the last supper. What makes this Grail holy of course, is that Jesus and his disciples drank wine from it after Jesus had said this bread you eat is my body, and this wine you drink is my blood. This ritual is reenacted daily in churches around the world, as communion, in remembrance of Jesus’ words. All of this has made the Grail a revered object that men have sought for centuries to find. Alas to no avail, although there are many who have claimed to have found it. But keep in mind if all the pieces said to be of the true cross were put together, it would be 100 feet tall. At first, followers sought a magnificent bejeweled gold cup as they felt befitted the Son of God. Only later did they realize that perhaps an itinerant preacher and his poor disciples lacked the wherewithal to come by such an ornate chalice. And there the focus changed to a more humble cup, which is far more likely to have been in Jesus’ procession. Most likely it will never be found even were it still to exist. Not that it’s stopping anyone from trying. The term grail, has over time, changed to mean any object of desire that people have sought after and are lucky to find. Surreallascapes: Each Collage is made up of at least 40 different pictures arranged in a landscape where the physical world is real, but the essence is of an alternate dimension. Or a Jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are made to fit together in a dreamlike manner. This will be offered as a signed and numbered print, limited to an edition of 25. There are only 17" X 25" prints with a one-inch border available.
