THE GILDED PALACE OF SIN Collage

THE GILDED PALACE OF SIN "The Gilded Palace of Sin", was a 1969 album released by Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, members of The Flying Burrito Brothers. The title refers to the saloons and bordellos (often the same place) which sprung to life in the mining and cattle towns of the Old West. The Bartenders, Gamblers, and prostitutes of these settlements were quite adept at separating the hard-bitten Miners, Cattlemen and whoever else happened to have wandered in, from their hard-earned wages. Although not a success in terms of sales it was an extremely influential record as one of the first stirrings of Country-Rock and Alternative Country. Its' impact on music can still be heard today, and what was once thought odd is now pretty standard fare. Surreallascapes: Each Collage is made up of at least 40 different pictures arranged in a landscape where the physical world is real, but the essence is of an alternate dimension. Or a Jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are made to fit together in a dreamlike manner. This will be offered as a signed and numbered print, limited to an edition of 25. Made from 100% rag paper, the 18" X 25" prints include a one-inch border.
