The tsunamis of love and loss Collage

I'm Emma, Hertfordshire/London based artist. My work leans towards illustration, mostly done by hand, although I sometimes use Photoshop for colouring. I create images which are surreal, graphic and often concerned with the subconscious mind and dream states. I like to use a blend of media - pen and conte pencil, collage, pastels and paint. My influences include writers as well as artists. The dream-like prose poetry of Anais Nin, the work of female artists like Louise Bourgeouis and the Japanese influence of artists like Aubrey Beardsley figure strongly in my illustrative work.
