About The Artwork
24x20 Mixed Media Collage featuring my photography in the center surrounded by found paper ephemera. The canvas edge has been wrapped in metal tape to give it a finished look to hang as-is. However, this won't affect framing, if you choose to do so after purchase. This piece started with the central photograph and was then inspired by lines 1-4 of the poem "Who Loves The Rain" by Francis Shaw: Who loves the rain / And loves his home, / And looks on life with quiet eyes, / Him will I follow through the storm; The imagery and poem provides a story for the viewer to decipher.

I grew up driving the back roads of the midwest looking for abandoned places to photograph. I was nicknamed "The Gallivanting Girl" because of this, and subsequently that's what I named my art business. I have always been drawn to an eclectic mix of art, agriculture, and anything vintage and worn. My art seems to reflect these things. I currently live on a small farm in rural Indiana with my husband and daughter as well as a menagerie of animals including a small herd of Brown Swiss cattle. I enjoy making art in several different mediums including photography, painting, collage, printmaking, and drawing.
