I am an image butcher, a metaphysical bomber, a fool on the hill with a reverberating neon-multicoloured rising pyramid in my hallucinatory mind. I begin with an intention – a feeling that comes over me. I let myself be gently overwhelmed by the pictures.Like solving a mathematical equation, I try to redeploy the different positions of the individual fragments and place them in new order. I want to work with the consciousness of irresponsibility, letting go of something that cannot be released, and holding on to something that flows away like quicksand in the ephemeral hands of time. My collages are hand cut and pasted. I don't use digital technology for my collage work. The intuition of „becoming“ and the crystalline structure in „being“, the beauty in the beast with its head in the clouds, the Great Pyramids of Giza in its hands – to assemble and fasten all of this together, that's what I'm aiming for. In my work I aim to shift the boundaries of the viewer's perception in order to open a door allowing to make „seeing“ tangible, to give a crystalline orientation to seeing. At best a work is allowed to build up its own force field, creating a tension that sizzles like a first adolescent kiss – at the same time it must have the wisdom of the last breath we breathe before we enter into a next dimension. I see my work that way: One cup of subversion, one cup of surreal crystal-clarity and a good cup of humor paired with a touch of political anarchy. There we go! A Dennis Busch collage that starts off as a swimwear vendor at the North Pole may indeed become a gravedigger at the end of an exploding rainbow.
