This lively and uplifting work was created on my tablet, using a digital drawing programme which allows me to easily switch between textures and brushes in order to create uninhibited free expression, something I just love doing. I hope the viewer sees the frenetic energy and pure joy that went into this work (as it does for all my pieces). To be free to create without self-imposed or external limitations is truly liberating. "Shake It Up" was created in the gorgeous township of Wanaka, in the South Island of New Zealand, during a stretch of very hot Summer weather - I think this is why the golden yellow became the dominant feature in this work. I don't consciously think when I create these pieces...I'm instead guided by my inner world, and am often surprised when that matches the outside. This work is printed on Breathing Color 300gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, with an additional white border which is hand signed.

New Zealand
Anne Dillon is a New Zealand artist living in the small rural village of Cust, in the South Island. Anne's work is experimental and exploratory and as a result she creates a diverse range of artworks. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally and she was one of only eight artists world-wide to feature in the Museum of Digital Fine Arts' Summer exhibition 2015. Primarily a digital artist, her work contains elements of her original photography and paintings as well as found images from the internet. Layering her work over and over results in a digital collage with depth and interest. More recently, digital paintings have been her preferred medium, created on her ipad. Several of her pieces have shown at the Saatchi Gallery in London on their second floor screen, and as well as group and solo shows in New Zealand, she has exhibited in the USA and Australia. She has also sent commissioned works to New York.
