2022 Sketchbook - Pulp Drawing

This is a 40 page A5 sketchbook with 20 drawings on it. Even pages are left blank so images won't smudge each other. It has a plain black softcover, with no marks or images, except minor wear signs and pigment smudges. All images are signed and dated, and are displayed in actual order. All were done throughout the year of 2022. I started this one as a study of flesh and round, full forms - hence the title, "Pulp". I felt it was time to advance my skills in the rendering of actual flesh and fat, with all its subtleties and flaws - folds, stretch marks, cellulite, veins, etc. I feel the more "real" a body representation feels, the more sexual it is. I worked with Staedler Black Lumograph pencils, which are a blend between graphite and charcoal. The result is more opaque than the usual graphite look. I also used red pencil outlines as way to emphasize mass.
