www.jessicahirley.com Jessica Shirley is the third daughter born to a vagrant military family. She has lived and traveled in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, but calls Atlanta home. Her work draws on cultural and literary symbols to illustrate personal history. She works primarily in two dimensions, incorporating collage or sculptural elements into pieces. A love of language can be seen in words of English, German, Hebrew, Japanese Kanji, or Spanish in many pieces. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art.
