About The Artwork
"Breakfast and I'm leaving" is a work composed of three parts that address the past, the present and the future. The scene is set in the breakfasts shared with my mother during my childhood: every morning, she would consume two oranges before leaving for work, leaving an emptiness that would resonate in the future. This project seeks to explore how identity formation is shaped in childhood. It is said that "the child is the father of man", and this work seeks to reflect that concept, tracing a thread from those moments to the present. The materials used in the three scenes have a symbolic value, as do the elements represented in the scene. In this way, the viewer is allowed to delve deeper and understand the work in a more profound and direct way.
