The boxing match between Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman took place on April 22, 2001 and is known as one of the most notable knockouts in heavyweight boxing history. Lennox Lewis, who was then considered one of the best heavyweight boxers in the world, defended his title against Hasim Rahman, a relatively unknown contender from the USA. The fight took place at the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, The Netherlands. Despite going into the fight as a favourite, Lewis didn't appear to be in top form and possibly underestimated his opponent. In the fifth round, Rahman hit Lewis with a massive right hook that sent Lewis to the ground and knocked him unconscious. The referee stopped the fight and Rahman became the new world heavyweight champion. Rahman's victory shocked the boxing world and is considered one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history. There was controversy later as to whether Lewis underestimated the fight or if he was simply having a bad day. In any case, the fight between Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman is considered a classic in heavyweight boxing history.
