About The Artwork
In 2017 a friend gave me a book by Ajit Mookerjee about Ritual Art in India which had a few black & white photos of Yakshi's. Upon searching the internet, I found some good pictures of different styles and versions of these. I then imagined that I was an artist living in the 2nd Century but with the materials of the 21st Century, this led to the creation of three Pen and Ink Drawings on Cotton cloth, the Pink Yakshi being the first.
