This artwork is 15 x 18 x 0.1 inches unframed and 24 x 27 x 2 inches framed. This intimately sized surrealist drawing depicts in the foreground a humanoid cephalopod posed confidently under a nimbus, donning a medieval European close helm, white t-shirt, and tartan kilt with its green tentacles loosely embracing a bass guitar. At first read, the dark background appears relatively homogenous. However, once the viewer edges closer to the piece a second read reveals that it is laden with intertwined drawings that include angels and demons. This artwork is signed and sold FRAMED with the backside labeled, wired, and ready for hanging. Frame materials are: painted gesso on wood, mat board, and museum glass. It will be sealed in protective plastic, packaged into a foam-padded strong box, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Surrealist Painter - Michael Diniz Swingler is a Brazilian-American. Rational, but generally feels that there is something more to existence just beyond his understanding. As a result, his work is firmly rooted in realistic figures, objects, and landscapes that have detoured into complicated abstractions. He uses classical oil painting techniques on canvas or panel and usually pulls ideas from sketchbook wanderings and academic re-workings. He does not always begin with a specific plan, so my processes vary. Live models and photographic references are employed when realism is important. His brushwork tends to be refined and premeditated, even when trying to work loose and spontaneously. An artwork is finished when he says so and will usually not be considered as "completed" until it has been varnished and framed. Ultimately, he wants his artworks to command respect for their level of skill, spark conversations due to their content and composition, and be worthy of remembrance by remaining visible in public collections where they may appreciate in value.
