About The Artwork
This is one of the pieces I have selected from what I am calling my Studio Work. It is the creative work I do that is more impulsive and experimental. As well as the learning aspect of this work, it is very relaxing and often surprising in what emerges. I chose to share these as a way of letting you into my creative process. My bottom line always is making connections with viewers. These seemed to me to be another step towards that goal. This particular painting was done to Little Richard's rendition of Ready, Ready, Ready to Rock 'n Roll. The media are marker and graphite. I used Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Vellum Paper 100 lb and the original is 14 x 17 inches

Always an artist in various media, I began painting late in life and have little regard for rules in the creative process. Art represents freedom. I am for the most part untrained and strive to preserve my own artistic vision. Texture is my passion, but I enjoy experimenting with lines, repetition, and layering. My art spans a wide variety of subjects and techniques. That's what keeps me fresh. Occasionally, I become very involved in color, but I am also at home playing with only shadow and light.
