About The Artwork

The images are part of a series called the "Sisters Series". Stories about relationships and characteristics of siblings as well as women who are connected to one another as friends. I chose the medium of drawing because it allows spontaneity as each one is created without any revision. What you see is the direct drawing done within a short period of time, usually an hour or less. Every morning a new drawing without any preparation or specific idea. Creating work that is self-directed is a pleasure. The handpaper I acquired online and it has a texture that looks like linen. It is rewarding to work on. The color comes from hand dyeing with all the imperfections evident but still archival.
